#Sports: 16-year-old Singapore kitefoiler Maximilian Maeder crowned world champion

SINGAPORE: Kitefoiler Maximilian Maeder clinched gold in the men's kite event at the Sailing World Championships in The Hague, the Netherlands, on Saturday (Aug 19).

The 16-year-old Singaporean took victory in the medal series, while Slovenia’s Toni Vodisek finished in second place.

After a second-place finish at the end of the opening series of the event, Maeder had also confirmed a quota spot for Singapore at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He had scored 23 nett points in 20 races over five days, behind Vodisek (22 points), before the medal series.

Maeder is currently ranked seventh in the world and just last month won his third consecutive title at the Formula Kite Youth World Championships.

A total of four sailors represented Singapore at the last edition of the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, with Ryan Lo in the laser event, Kimberly Lim and Cecilia Low in the 49er FX and Amanda Ng in the RS:X.

Germany won the title

Germany World Cup History:
The Germany national football team is one of the most successful national teams in the FIFA World Cup, winning Four tournaments and reaching four other finals. The team was present in 18 out of the 20 tournaments, the second most frequent along with Italy, and only once did not reach the quarter-finals. Germany is one of the three most successful national teams at international competitions, having won a total of four World Cups and three European Championships. They were runners-up three times in the European Championships, four times in the World Cup, and won four 3rd places in the World Cup.

FIFA World Cup 2014: Germany Emerge Victorious

ARGENTINA
 VS

GERMANY
The match which everyone has been waiting for, Germany vs Argentina. During the first half, the match look sloppy as if there is fixed match. However, on the second half, Argentina strikes back. I love watching the match when both teams continuously strike each till one finally strike a goal. After 90 minute both still 0-0. Extra time Mario Gotze scored a goal for Germany at 113 thminutes. Congratulation Germany!!! You earned it!!!

See you again in 2018... Goodbye Brazil... See you in Russia...

We Are One (Ole Ola) by Pit Bull feat Jennifer Lopez and Claudia Leitte 2014

Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) by Shakira 2010

FIFA World Cup 2014 (12 June - 13 July 2014)

The World Cup fever is back and I'm one of the soccer fan. I will only watch World Cup, Euro Cup and English Premier League.

I do not watch S-League at all but I do watch if they are against other country like SEA Games, Commonwealth Games, Malaysia Cup and etc. I still support the Lions though.

With the present of Sports School, I hope one day Singapore able to enter the qualifier round in World Cup. I do not have high expectation but do make us proud. Let us (SINGAPORE) be the next Asia country in the World Cup list.
