#Others: Application for Medical Assistance for Mum Long Term Dialysis

It has been a while since I last blogged. I was busy with work and gather the information about getting fund for my mum dialysis. The dialysis per session is approximately $180.00. Since mum's dialysis is 3 times a week, approximately she requires 13 sessions a month. That is approximately $2,340 a month. With dad, mum and myself require medical attention, that amount is too much for me to handle.

Both my parents are not working which left me and my youngest sister. The doctor informs they will get the medical social worker to assist me with the funding. Thanks to the TTSH Medical Social Worker Ms. Josephine Chua who helped me to get the fund.

I was given the first good news that the Hospital Charity Fund agreed to assist my mum dialysis which resulted I have to pay cash $200. I am absolutely grateful for their kind assistance. Besides the Hospital Charity Fund, I also seek financial assistance from a Buddhist organization. The organization is Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation (Singapore). 

Every month $450 will be deducted from my mom Medisave and $1100 from her Medishield. From the balance, I have to pay $200 monthly while waiting for NKF approval. It is not an easy process. I have gone to NKF first appointment and now awaiting the 2nd appointment. The second appointment requires my mom going for her medical check-up with the NKF doctor. If the medical results are good, she may be eligible to get her dialysis at the NKF Dialysis Centre. 

What surprises me is that another non-Muslim organization willing to help and assist other community. However, to get fund/help/assistance from my own Malay-Muslim organization is very difficult. From education until medical assistance, it was never easy to get fund from the Malay-Muslim organization.

I am glad that other community willing to extend their hand to help others. I am grateful that Tzu Chi has extended their hand to my family. Even though the result is still not out, if they are able to assist us, I still want to thank them. 

I will not have a peaceful mind till all the results are out. If it is unsuccessful, I have to think alternative solutions on how I can raise at least $2400 for mum's dialysis monthly.

I pray to Allah Almighty to give me the strength to go through all His trial. May Allah Almighty keep mine and parents pink health always. I CANNOT afford to fall sick as I need to look after my sickly parent.
