The Workers’ Party saw a 0.01 percentage point increase in its share of votes for Aljunied GRC but in Punggol East SMC, it was a 0.01 percentage point increase for the People’s Action Party.
SINGAPORE: The counting of overseas votes for the 2015 General Election (GE) took place at the ELD Training Centre on Tuesday (Sep 15), four days after official results were announced on the night of Polling Day.
According to the Elections Department (ELD), there were a total of 4,868 registered voters overseas, out of which 3,415 turned up at the 10 designated overseas polling stations - London, Tokyo, Beijing, Washington, Hong Kong, Shanghai, San Francisco, New York, Canberra and Dubai - on Sep 11.
The Workers’ Party (WP) saw a 0.01 percentage point increase for its vote share for Aljunied Group Representation Constituency against the People’s Action Party (PAP) but in Punggol East Single Member Constituency, it was a 0.01 percentage point increase for the PAP against the WP.
This puts the total number of votes cast in the GE to 2,307,746, including the 47,367 rejected votes. ELD also said 93.7 per cent of the 2,462,926 million registered electors had voted in last Friday's election.
