A earthquake measuring magnitude 5.8 has stuck off Samoa on Tuesday, the U.S Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

SYDNEY: A earthquake measuring magnitude 5.8 has stuck off Samoa on Tuesday, the U.S Geological Survey (USGS) reported.

The epicentre of the earthquake was just shy of 200 km (124 miles) southwest of Apia - the capital and largest city of Samoa.

There were no immediate reports of any damage or casualties.
