#Newsflash: Singtel fibre broadband service disrupted on Saturday

SINGAPORE: Telco Singtel said on Saturday (Dec 3) that some customers may be experiencing difficulties in accessing their fibre broadband services.

In a Facebook post at 9.43am, the company said: "Our engineers are working to resolve the problem. Thank you for your patience."

In a subsequent update at 11.55am, the company said on Facebook that its engineers are still investigating the cause of the disruption. "Please bear with us as we try to resolve the problem," it wrote.

There were some subscribers who took to social media to express their displeasure. Twitter user @fernyys, for one, said: "This is really very inconvenient time for @Singtel to be down. It's affecting all our work!"

On Singtel's Facebook page, the 9.43am post garnered 265 comments within 17 minutes, with the issue apparently affecting subscribers across the island from Jurong West to Pasir Ris.

According to some callers to the telco's hotline, they are being met with an automated response that the company cannot respond due to high call volume before having their calls cut off.
